Wilhelm Ritterbach (painter, 1884)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wilhelm Ritterbach (born June 14, 1884 in Hoisten , Neuss; † January 3, 1952 in Bensberg ) was a German painter.

Life

Little data is known about his biography.

He wrote (presumably) only the first letter “W.” for his first name, so as not to be confused with his artist colleague and contemporary Wilhelm Ritterbach (1878–1940) from Neheim-Hüsten. So far, all that is known about his life is that he had a studio in Quedlinburg and that he did the glass painting Ferd on site. Müller worked together.

During this collaboration, windows were created for the Magdeburg Cathedral (1946/47), the Church of the Redeemer in Berlin-Lichtenberg (1948), the Church of St. Martin in Ahornberg (1940/43) and the village church of St. Anna in Bödexen (today a district of Höxter) ( 1944), St. Gertraud, Magdeburg-Salbke, Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary ( Polish: Kościół Niepokalanego Poczęcia Najświętszej Marii Panny ), Katowice (1943). Only the windows in Magdeburg and Bödexen are signed.
