Wilhelm Schümmer

Wilhelm Schümmer (born November 26, 1882 in Würselen , Aachen district, † January 5, 1930 in Porz ) was a German politician ( center ).

After attending primary school in his home village, Schümmer learned the iron turning trade. From 1906 to 1911 he worked as a civil servant (workers 'secretary) for the Christian metal workers' association in Gdansk . In 1911 Schümmer became secretary of the Association of Catholic Workers' Associations in the Kulm Diocese .

In January 1919, Schümmer was elected to the Weimar National Assembly as a candidate for the Catholic Center Party in constituency 2 (West Prussia province) , to which he was a member until the first regular Reichstag of the Weimar Republic met in June 1920.

He was then a member of the Danzig People's Day until December 1920 , when he became a full-time Senator for the Interior of the Free City of Danzig .
