Wilhelm Schnitter

Wilhelm Schnitter (born February 26, 1802 in Stralsund ; † April 24, 1887 there ) was a German lawyer and writer.

Life

Gottfried Joachim Wilhelm Schnitter attended high school in Stralsund and at the age of 20 went to Heidelberg to study law . He finished his studies in Berlin and was appointed court judge there in July 1834 . In 1838 Schnitter was appointed district judge in Greifswald and in 1842 director of the district court. In April 1850 he became a member of the district court in Stralsund. In 1854 he retired because of a hearing impairment.

In addition to his professional activity, Wilhelm Schnitter wrote poems and dramas.
