PanAm later used the Douglas DC-6 B and Boeing 377 at the airport. During the late 1950s, Pacific Northern Airlines connected Annette Island to Lockheed Constellation with non-stop flights to Seattle and Juneau. There were also direct flights to Anchorage, Cordova and Yakutat. The first jets arrived at the airport in the early 1960s. In 1963 PanAm flew the Seattle - Annette Island - Juneau route daily on a Boeing 707 . From 1965 Pacific Northern used Boeing 720 on non-stop flights to Seattle and Juneau, as well as on flights to Anchorage via Juneau. In 1967 Pacific Northern was taken over by Western Airlines , which continued to operate. In 1968 Boeing 720Bs were used for the first time both on non-stop flights to Juneau and Seattle and on direct flights to Portland (Oregon) , San Francisco and Los Angeles . In 1971 the Civil Aeronautics Board awarded Alaska Airlines the routes to Western Airlines. With the opening of Ketchikan International Airport in 1973, Annette Island lost all scheduled flights as all airlines moved to Ketchikan. Prior to the move, Alaska Airlines used amphibious planes ( Consolidated PBY Catalina and Grumman Goose ) for the short flight between Annette Island Airport and the Ketchikan Seaplane Base, as well as other destinations in southeast Alaska.
