Wilhelm Schomerus

Wilhelm Heinrich Schomerus (born October 22, 1864 in Marienhafe ; † May 12, 1943 in Aurich ) was a German Lutheran theologian and general superintendent of the Aurich General Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover .

Life

Schomerus, the son of a medical council, studied theology and was a member of the 1883 while studying in Göttingen Schwarzenburg Bund - connection Burschenschaft Germania . After completing his studies, he became pastor in Hage in 1889 , third pastor in 1901, second pastor in Norden (East Friesland) in 1903 , first pastor and superintendent in 1918. From 1925 to 1933 he was general superintendent in Aurich . From 1925 he was also a clerical member of the Hanover regional church office . In 1933 he was retired.
