The Wilhelmsbader Hof is a former state estate in the area of ​​the city of Hanau in Hesse and is now a listed building .

history

At the site of the courtyard there was once a fir forest in the area of ​​the municipality of Wachenbuchen . The Wilhelmsbader Hof was built near the Wilhelmsbad State Park at the latest at the end of the 18th century , older parts of the complex date back to 1781, a brewery and a distillery were built in 1785. The purpose of the facility was to convey country life to spa guests with a so-called "Westphalian farm". There was also a vegetable and orchard. In the middle of the 19th century, extensive new buildings were built, including modern horse stables at the time.

The estate was operated by the country for experimental purposes until the 1950s. Under private management, the facility still serves as an excursion destination with a restaurant, horse farm and brewery.
