The Wilkins Mountains are a group of mountains stretching 30 km in the east of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . They rise west of Matthews Glacier and 40 km southeast of the Sweeney Mountains .

They were discovered during the US Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948). Expedition leader Finn Ronne named it after the Australian polar explorer Hubert Wilkins (1888-1958).
