Will Wright (game developer)
William Ralph "Will" Wright (born January 20, 1960 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is one of the most famous designers of computer games worldwide and is a co-founder of the Maxis company .
Act
While at Maxis, he was responsible for developing several popular Sim franchise games, including SimCity and The Sims . In April 2009, Will Wright left the company to devote more time to his own company, Stupid Fun Club.
In 2002 he was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame in recognition of his work .
In October 2011, Will Wright became a member of the board of directors at Linden Lab , the makers of Second Life .
In 2012 Will Wright received the LARA of Honor for his life's work in the games industry.
