Willi Ehringer

Willi Ehringer (born April 15, 1928 in Hockenheim ) is a German jazz and entertainment musician ( trumpet , flugelhorn ) as well as conductor, arranger and composer.

Live and act

Ehringer studied music and education in Heidelberg. He played in clubs of the US Army and in the swing band of Hans Leip. In 1956 he was elected one of Germany's leading jazz trumpeters. Shortly afterwards he traveled all over Europe as a well-known dance musician and worked with Helmut Zacharias , Bill Ramsey and numerous pop stars. But he also performed with Acker Bilk and Chris Barber . In his old age he played with the Washhouse Stompers , the Hockenheimer Dixieland All Stars , but also with the Swinging Friends of Jochen Brauer , the Dixieland Eminence and the international pensioner band , with whom he performed at the 2010 Dixieland Festival in Dresden . In the same year it was an attraction at the Oktoberfest in Monaco. In the USA Ehringer played in Florida, Chicago and several weeks in the Hofbräuhaus in Las Vegas.

From 1961 to 2016 Ehringer led the harmony of his hometown Reilingen , but also directed the fanfare procession of the racing city of Hockenheim for 25 years and the big band of the Bruchsal riot police for many years. From 1970 until his 90th birthday in April 2018 Ehringer was the conductor of the Unteröwisheim music association .

He can be heard on records with the Rhine Stream Jazz Band , the Dixieland All Stars Hockenheim and the Reiner Hengst Quintet .
