Willi Hussong

Willi Hussong (born April 3, 1903 in Kirkel-Neuhäusel , Saarland , † February 21, 1981 in Speyer ) was a German church administrator and board member of the insurance company HUK-Coburg .

Hussong was born the son of a miner. After graduating from elementary school, he began as a public apprentice at the mayor's office in Kirkel. In 1936 he became chief accountant at the Protestant regional church office in the Palatinate. He was a member of the Confessing Church , an opposition movement of Protestant Christians at the time of National Socialism .

In 1951 he took part in the general assembly of the HUK-Coburg as the “Commissioner of the Protestant Church of the Palatinate”, where he was appointed to the board. From 1951 to 1955 he was director of the HUK-Coburg. From 1955 to 1980 he was chairman of the supervisory board there. In 1962 he became senior church councilor; In 1968 he retired from church service.

In July 1980, Hussong resigned from all his offices at HUK-Coburg. He died a few months later.

In his honor, a street at the headquarters of the HUK-Coburg in Coburg bears his name, as does a retirement and nursing home in Kandel (Rhineland-Palatinate).
