Willi Kaidel
Willi "Bubi" Kaidel (real name Wilhelm Kaidel ; born April 20, 1912 in Schweinfurt , † April 2, 1978 there ) was a German rower .
At the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin-Grünau, he and Joachim Pirsch won the silver medal in a double scull. In 1937 the two won the European Championships in Amsterdam.
He started for the Schweinfurt Rowing Club Franconia in 1882 and was German vice-champion in the single at the German championships in 1935 . In 1936 and 1937 he won the German championship title together with Joachim Pirsch, and in 1938 he finished second with Georg von Opel .
His son Siegfried Kaidel has been President of the German Rowing Association since 2008 .
