Joachim Pirsch
Joachim Pirsch (born October 26, 1914 - † August 25, 1988 ) was a German rower who won the Olympic silver medal in double sculls with Willi Kaidel in 1936 .
The rowers from Berlin RV Alemannia finished in 1934 at the German championships in one second behind Gustav Schäfer . In 1936, Pirsch formed a double scull with Willi Kaidel from Schweinfurt and won the German championships. At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the two finished second behind the British Jack Beresford and Leslie Southwood and received the silver medal. In 1937 Pirsch and Kaidel repeated their success at the German championships. At the European Championships in Amsterdam, the two won the title in front of boats from Hungary and Italy.
