Willi Ph. Knecht
Willi Phillip Knecht also Willi Ph. Knecht (born February 24, 1929 in Düsseldorf ; † February 17, 2005 in Berlin ) was a German sports journalist.
Knecht was the sports editor of the RIAS Berlin and the sports information service . He was particularly considered to be a good connoisseur of GDR sports. According to the tasks of his employer, the United States Information Agency , financed from the budget of the CIA , he carried out targeted propaganda against the GDR during the Cold War . He wrote regularly for the Germany Archives . The WorldCat lists 139 contributions from him.
