William Addison, 4th Viscount Addison

William Matthew Wand Addison, 4th Viscount Addison (born June 13, 1945 ) is a British peer and politician .

He is the son of Michael Addison, 3rd Viscount Addison and Kathleen Wand. He attended King's School in Bruton, Somerset , and studied at the Essex Institute of Agriculture in Chelmsford , Essex .

When his father died in 1992, he inherited his title of nobility as 4th Viscount Addison and 4th Baron Addison and thereby became a member of the House of Lords . He took his seat in parliament on the side of the Conservative Party . When his hereditary right to a seat in parliament was abolished by the House of Lords Act 1999 , he ran for the election for the remaining upper house seats of the hereditary nobility. Elected to rank 47 among the conservative colleagues and thus did not receive any of the 42 to be awarded by the conservatives. In the next few years he ran again in the elections for the House of Lords, but so far without success.

His first marriage was on October 10, 1970, Joanna Mary Dickinson. From this marriage, which was divorced in 1990, he has three children:

  • Hon. Caroline Amy Addison (* 1979)

Lesley married Ann Mawer in 1991.
