Michael Addison, 3rd Viscount Addison

Michael Addison, 3rd Viscount Addison ( April 12, 1914 - March 23, 1992 ) was a British peer , civil servant and academic.

Addison was the second son of Christopher Addison, 1st Viscount Addison and Isobel Mackinnon Gray. He attended Hele's School in Exeter and studied at Balliol College of Oxford University .

He was in the civil service from 1936 to 1965. During World War II he was an intelligence officer and a flying officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve from 1941 to 1945 . He was Senior Lecturer at the School of Management Studies at the Polytechnic of Central London in London from 1965 to 1976 .

When his older brother Christopher Addison, 2nd Viscount Addison died in 1976 without male heirs, he inherited his title of nobility as 3rd Viscount Addison and 3rd Baron Addison and thereby became a member of the House of Lords .

On August 22, 1936, he married Kathleen Wand, daughter of William Wand , who later became the Anglican Bishop of London . He had three children with her:
