William Edward Ashurst (born January 24, 1896 in Wigan , † May 1, 1956 in Weysham near Kirkham ) was an English football player .
Career
Ashurst came in December 1921 as an amateur to club Wigan Borough , playing in the Football League Third Division North , and was "responsible for a few goals" in a friendly against the third team from Manchester City . In February 1922 he rose to the professional and came in March 1922 in two league games as a replacement for William Rigby in the center forward position for use. In mid-April, three more games followed in four days as a left half-forward , only in the fifth and last outing against AFC Wrexham managed to win a point with a 2-1 win.
At the end of the season Ashurst moved on to the Burscough Rangers, at the end of 1925 he may move to Chorley FC .
