William Corin

William Corin (born October 13, 1867 in Kent , England, † March 2, 1929 in Sydney ) was an English-Australian electrical engineer who made the early designs for the Snowy Mountains system in Australia.

Corin attended King's College School and University College in London. He initially worked as a civil engineer. In 1891 he became an electrical engineer and in 1895 he emigrated to Tasmania , where he built the Duck Reach Power Station .

In 1907 he became chief electrical engineer for the New South Wales Department of Public Works.

In 1923 he founded a private consulting company.

The Corin Dam in the Australian Capital Territory is named after him.
