William Cox (athlete)
William Cox ( William John "Bill" Cox; born June 12, 1904 in Rochester , New York , † June 3, 1996 in Webster , New York) was an American middle and long distance runner .
In the team race over 3000 m at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, he came eighth and won bronze with the US team.
As a student at Pennsylvania State University , he was IC4A champion in cross-country running in 1926 and 1927 , in 1927 in the mile run and in 1927 and 1928 (with his personal best of 4: 18.6 min) over a mile in the hall.
