William Douglas of Douglas († 1333)
William Douglas of Douglas († July 19, 1333 near Berwick-upon-Tweed ) was a Scottish nobleman .
He was the eldest son and heir to the general Sir James of Douglas . When his father died in the Battle of Teba in 1330 , he inherited his lands and followed him in particular as laird of the feudal barony of Douglas .
He belonged to the army of his uncle of the Guardian of Scotland Sir Archibald Douglas , the 1333 to the relief of the English King Edward III. besieged border town of Berwick was erected. In the following battle at Halidon Hill on July 19, 1333, the Scottish army was defeated and William was also killed in the battle.
He remained unmarried and childless. His possessions fell to his uncle Hugh Douglas .
