William Peter Mahrt
William Peter Mahrt is an American music historian .
Life
He studied at Gonzaga University (1957–1960), University of Washington (1960–1963) BA 1961, MA 1963 with the master's thesis The keyboard fugues by Robert Schumann. A study in romantic influences and Stanford University (1963–1969) PhD 1969. At Case Western Reserve University he taught as Visiting Assistant Professor from 1969 to 1971, at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester as Assistant Professor (1971–1972) and at Stanford University, Acting Assistant Professor (1972–1974), Assistant Professor (1974–1980) and, since 1980, Associate Professor .
