Alberth Josué Elis Martínez (born February 12, 1996 in San Pedro Sula ) is a Honduran football player who is currently active at Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer .
Career
societies
CD Olimpia
After years of youth in the youth department of Real España , Elis switched to the Honduran first division club CD Olimpia in 2013 . In just under three years, Elis played 62 games and scored 25 goals.
CF Monterrey
On August 26, 2016 Alberth Elis joined the Mexican first division club CF Monterrey . However, he did not make a breakthrough. So he came only to five missions without a goal participation.
Houston Dynamo
On December 20, 2016, Houston Dynamo announced the signing of Elis on loan. The loan contract ran for a year. In the end, Houston had an option to buy. After a first season with eleven goals in 27 appearances, the Texas club decided on December 13, 2017 to take the agreed purchase option.
National team
Elis represented his home country since the U-17. On October 9, 2014 he made his debut in the 2-0 defeat against Mexico in the men's team Honduras .
In the semifinals of the 2015 CONCACAF Olympic qualification, Elis scored two goals against the USA , which meant that his team reached the final and ultimately the 2016 Olympic Games . Against Cuba , Elis managed a double in the national team jersey.
During the Olympic Games, he shot the Honduran team with his winning goal in the 27th minute against South Korea in the semifinals.
