The Neuhofener Woog nature reserve is located in the Rhein-Pfalz district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 100 ha area, which was placed under nature protection by ordinance of March 4, 1999 , extends not far south of Neuhofen (Palatinate) . The B 9 runs along the western edge of the area and the L 533 state road runs along the southern edge .
The area is a former loop of the Rhine . Today there are near-natural forest stands with succession stages such as black alder quarry forest and black alder- ash - swamp forest , wet and humid meadows , sedges - and reed beds , near-natural still and flowing water and site-typical single trees and hedges.
