The Böllenwörth nature reserve is located in the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 158 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection by ordinance of December 29, 1983 , extends over the district of Otterstadt . The Rhine forms the eastern border. The L 535 state road runs through the area and the L 630 not far to the northwest.
The area includes part of the flood plain of the Rhine lying floodplain , wetland meadows , Altrhein residues and other temporary water as the location of rare plant and animal species.
