George William Shaw (born 1959 in Newton Abbot ) is a British journalist and author.

Life

According to his German publisher, he was born in Newton Abbot in the English county of Devon and grew up in Nigeria . Over a period of twenty years he wrote about pop and subculture for various newspapers and magazines such as The Observer and The New York Times ; According to his own statements, he began his career with the post-punk magazine ZigZag , worked as a journalist for the magazines Wired , Arena and The Face and received an Amazon UK Music Journalist of the Year award in 2003 . He lives in Brighton .
