William Willard Ashe

William Willard Ashe (born June 4, 1872 in Raleigh , North Carolina , † March 18, 1932 in Washington, DC ) was an American botanist and forester . Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Ashe ".

He was one of the nine children of the infantry captain and author Samuel A'Court Ashe (1840-1938) and his wife Hannah Emerson Willard. Ashe was a forester with the North Carolina Geological Survey and later with the US Forest Service .
