William landlord Watkins

William Wirt Watkins (born April 1, 1826 in Jefferson County , Tennessee , † January 15, 1898 in Harrison , Boone County , Arkansas ) was an American politician from the 19th century .

Watkins served in the Arkansas Senate several times, from 1856 to 1860, then after the war in 1866, and then again in 1878 . In addition, he represented his home state of Arkansas in 1861 at the Secession Convention and later at the Provisional Confederate Congress .

Watkins died in Harrison and was later buried in Freeling-Watkins Cemetery in Bellefonte , Arkansas.
