Willibald Mathäser

Willibald Mathäser OSB (* 29. April 1901 in Munich , † 15. October 1985 ) was a German Order spiritual .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1920 at the Theresien-Gymnasium in Munich , he joined the Benedictine order in the Abbey of St. Boniface in September 1921 and studied philosophy, history and theology at the University of Munich . After his ordination in March 1925, he became a youth pastor in the parish of St. Boniface. He was a catechist from 1948 to 1953 at the Sophie-Scholl-Gymnasium in Munich . In 1947 he founded the St. George Scouting Union , of which he was curate until 1963. From 1954 he worked as cellarist in Andechs, from 1968 as archivist and 1971–1973 as monastery librarian at St. Boniface.
