Willie J. Green (born July 28, 1981 in Detroit ) is an American basketball player and coach who was most recently under contract with the Orlando Magic . He played in the position of the shooting guard . Since 2016 he has been an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors .

Career

Green attended Detroit Mercy College and was first selected in the 2003 NBA Draft in the 2nd round as 41st by the Seattle SuperSonics . He then played for the Philadelphia 76ers for seven years until 2010 and then moved to the New Orleans Hornets for a year . In 2011 Green moved to the Atlanta Hawks and was able to move into the play-offs with the Hawks. In the summer of 2012, the Hawks extended his contract and then transferred Green to the Los Angeles Clippers .

For the 2014/2015 season, Green was released from his contract by the Clippers. He then switched to the Orlando Magic . Since the 2016/2017 season he has been under contract with the Golden State Warriors as an assistant coach.
