Willmoth Daniel

Willmoth Daniel (born August 18, 1948 in Bolands ) is an Antigua and Barbuda- born politician of the United Progressive Party . He was a member of the House of Representatives between 1994 and 1999 and since 2004 .

Family and career

Born in Bolands, Daniel received his education at St. John's Boys School and Hill Secondary School . He works as an auctioneer , is married and has a son and a daughter. He began his political career as a candidate for the United People's Movement . For this party he stood in the constituency of St. Philip South in the general election in 1984 , but was clearly defeated there against the candidate of the Antigua Labor Party . After the dissolution of the United People's Movement, Daniel moved to the United National Democratic Party for which he ran again in the 1989 general election in the St. Philip South constituency. In his second election he was also defeated by the Antigua Labor Party candidate. After the United National Democratic Party in the United Progressive Party, Daniel won the 1994 general election in his ancestral constituency. Although he was unable to defend his seat in the 1999 general election , he prevailed again in the 2004 elections . Has been re-elected twice since then. During his time in the House of Representatives, he held several ministerial posts. He served as Minister of Health and Minister of Labor and Transport.
