The Willowlake River is a right tributary of the Mackenzie River in the Northwest Territories of Canada .

The Willowlake River has its origins in the eponymous Willow Lake . It flows through the neighboring Hornell Lake and continues its course in a north-westerly, later in a westerly direction. The tributary Gahtsahday River, which flows in from the right, drains the northern Bulmer Lake . The Willowlake River eventually flows into the Mackenzie River about 50 km south of Wrigley . The Mackenzie Highway crosses the river near the mouth . The length of the Willowlake River is approximately 300 km. The catchment area covers around 20,500 km². The mean discharge is over 60 m³ / s.
