Willy Brandt Circle

The Willy-Brandt-Kreis is a registered association whose purpose, according to the statutes, is “through events, publications or in other ways, contributions to questions of the peaceful coexistence of peoples and to questions of social and just domestic coexistence on the basis of the ideas of deceased Chancellor Willy Brandt ”. The seat of the association is Berlin.

The Willy-Brandt-Kreis was founded at the end of 1997. The founding members included Egon Bahr , Peter Bender , Peter Brandt , Günter Grass , Günter Gaus , Friedrich Schorlemmer , Klaus Staeck and Christa Wolf . Chairman of the Willy Brandt Circle (as of October 2018) is Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul . Deputy chairmen are Peter Brandt and Daniela Dahn .

The circle published numerous statements on questions of peace and security policy.
