The Willy-Brandt-Platz is located in Munich's district Riem directly to the Riem Arcades . To the north of the square are the New Munich Trade Fair Center , the tower of the former Munich Riem Airport , the congress center and commercial space, and to the south of the square are the residential areas of the quarter.
Due to its location, Willy-Brandt-Platz forms the intersection between Olof-Palme-Straße and Willy-Brandt-Allee with mixed areas for offices, retail and services.

Immediately on the square is the Hotel Novotel München Messe and the access to the Riem Arcaden. In the immediate vicinity of the Platz der Menschenrechte (Human Rights Square) there is a cultural center, an elderly and service center and the parish of St. Florian with its white church tower. Willy-Brandt-Platz also offers access to the Messestadt West underground station . There is also a large fountain next to the entrance.
