Willy Andrek

Georg Willy Karl Andrek (born January 11, 1888 in Neuruppin ; † March 3, 1942 in Berlin ) was a German communist and anti-fascist who was murdered by the Gestapo .

The revolver turner Willy Andrek joined the SPD in 1907 , then switched to the USPD and joined the KPD when it was founded . In addition to Albert Kayser , Franz Mett and Otto Schmirgal , he was a works council member and one of the BVG's workers' officials , which earned him reprimands. He joined the resistance group around Robert Uhrig and was arrested by the Gestapo at the beginning of the mass arrests on February 4, 1942 . On March 3, 1942, he was murdered in the prison of the Berlin police headquarters on Alexanderplatz .
