Willy A. Bein , also Willi Bein , (born April 2, 1869 in Berlin ; † November 17, 1943 there ) was a German chemist . He was a senior councilor and member of the Reichsanstalt, department for weights and measures .

Life

He was the son of the Berlin businessman Emil Bein and his wife Johanna nee Hansen. After attending the Friedrichsgymnasium, where he graduated from high school in 1886, he studied mathematics and physics as well as chemistry at the Berlin University and in Charlottenburg at the Technical University. He received his doctorate as Dr. phil. in 1892 and two years later became an employee and in 1910 a member of the Reichsanstalt und Weights and Measures, where he specialized in electrochemistry as well as technical work and processes of electrolysis . In 1934 he retired as a senior councilor.

Willy Bein had been a member of the German Physical Society since 1892 and was also a member of the Berlin Society for Anthropology .

family

Since August 1910, Willy Bein was married to Friedegunde, daughter of Captain Lutter from Lichterfeld. The son Fritz (* 1912) emerged from the marriage. They lived in Berlin-Wilmersdorf , Koblenzer Strasse 27.
