Willy Brandt , also Willi Brandt (born February 13, 1885 in Ilfeld , † November 4, 1975 in Bayreuth ; full name: Christoph Gottfried Hermann Willy Brandt), was a German teacher and school director.

Life

After graduating from the Ilfeld monastery school , Willy Brandt studied history and classical philology at the universities of Göttingen , Strasbourg and Halle an der Saale from 1903 . He received his doctorate in Halle. Further training followed in Hanover and Hannoversch Münden . Brandt found his first job as an assistant teacher in Aurich . From 1910 to 1913 he was senior teacher for Latin, Greek and history at the large city school in Rostock . Then he worked as a lecturer at the University of Rostock . From 1924 to 1937, Willy Brandt was senior director of the Güstrow cathedral school . The 375th anniversary of the school was celebrated under his directorate.

In 1937 Willy Brandt was transferred to the Friderico-Francisceum in Bad Doberan . Here he was involved in the surrender of the city without a fight. Until 1950 he held the post of director. He later moved to Bayreuth . In 1975 he died there in the Laineck district .
