Willy Fascher

Willy Fascher (born May 5, 1912 ; † unknown) was a German fencer and participant in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki. He fought at the Turn-Klubb in Hanover .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952, Fascher took part in saber singles as well as with the saber and foil team. With both teams, Fascher was eliminated in the second round, where he was replaced with the foil by his club mate Siegfried Rossner , as the tournament did not go well for him. Also in the singles he was eliminated in the quarter-finals as the last of his round.

In 1953 and 1954 Fascher was German runner-up in the saber singles, in 1955 third in the foil singles. In 1951 and 1952 TK Hannover won the German team championship in the saber, but the exact team line-ups are not known.

As a member of the fencing department of the TK Hanover, he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf in 1956 . Around 1958 Fascher was a sports manager of the German Fencing Federation .
