Willy Ziegler (politician)

Willy Ziegler (born March 13, 1879 in Celle ; † August 17, 1939 in Breslau ) was an initially social democratic and later a communist politician.

Ziegler was a fitter by trade. As a member of the SPD , he was later a full-time party functionary. Between 1914 and 1918 he took part in the First World War and remained in military service until 1919. In 1918 Ziegler joined the USPD and was chairman of the workers and soldiers' council of the Lamsdorf garrison in Upper Silesia during the November Revolution . From 1919 to 1921 Ziegler was initially a member of the Prussian constitutional state assembly and then until 1922 a member of the Prussian state parliament . In 1919 and 1920 he was professional party secretary of the USPD in Breslau . In 1920 he became a member of the VKPD and was party secretary of the Silesian District , based in Wroclaw. In September 1921 he left the KPD and became a member of the KAG in February 1922 .
