Wim Dijkgraaf

Wim Dijkgraaf (* 4. October 1970 in Apeldoorn ) is a Dutch harmonica players of modern jazz , who is also a composer is.

Dijkgraaf, who should not be confused with the bassist of the same name, played the organ as a child; then clarinet and trombone were added. After school he studied composition and contemporary music at the Tilburg Conservatory with Alexandru Hrisanide . At this time he discovered the harmonica, initially influenced by Toots Thielemans . He was active both as a composer and a jazz soloist in Europe and increasingly also in Brazil. In 2008 he moved to Ceará ; since 2011 he has lived in Rio de Janeiro .
