Wind Rose is an Italian power metal band from Milan . The band has released four studio albums so far, mostly based on the works of JRR Tolkien .
Band history
Founded in 2009, an EP called Demo 2010 was released a few months later , which received good reviews. With this EP, the band was signed to Bakerteam Records (a subsidiary of Scarlet Records ). Her debut album Shadows Over Lothadruin was released there on August 28, 2012 .
Between 2013 and 2014 the band appeared in the opening act for Wintersun , Eluveitie , Ensiferum , Finntroll and Epica, among others . In 2013 Cristiano Bertocchi also joined the band as bass player, who had previously played with Labyrinth and Vision Divine .
In 2015, their second album Wardens of the West was released on Scarlet Records. The band signed with Inner Wound Recordings for the 2017 album Stonehymne . The band became better known through the videos for To Erebor and The Wolve's Call . The band appeared on the Bloodstock and Masters of Rock , among others .
The band then became popular with a cover version of a Minecraft song by Yogscast that had already gone viral . Diggy Diggy Hole was released as the first single for their new record company Napalm Records , where their fourth album Wintersaga was released on September 27th . The self- deprecating Diggy Diggy Hole also went viral in the version of Wind Rose. The album reached number 83 in the German album charts.
