Windenberg is a district of the Upper Swabian market Markt Rettenbach in the Unterallgäu district in Bavarian Swabia .

The district is located about two kilometers east of the main town of Markt Rettenbach and is connected to it by the MN 28 district road. To the west of the village are the Auerwiesen and Auerbach, to the north the cattle pasture and to the west the Heischfeld .

It has belonged to Markt Rettenbach since the village was founded. The wasteland of Windenberg was first mentioned in 1517 when Eitel Leutkircher signed a contract with the Augsburg bishopric to treat the serfs of Windenberg as well as those of Rettenbach.
