The Windische Chapel is one of the two Marian saints on the summit of the Dobratsch in the municipality of Nötsch in the Gailtal . It is dedicated to the feast of the Assumption . It is called “ Windische Kapelle” to distinguish it from the German Chapel 300 m away , which is dedicated to “Maria am Stein”.

The chapel was built in 1690 by the lord of the castle von Wasserleonburg , Baron von Semler, in fulfillment of a vow. According to another legend, the founder was a Mrs. Semmler, owner of Wasserleonburg, whose deaf and mute son was healed due to the intercession of the Mother of God.

Until 1760 the church was a branch of Sankt Georgen im Gailtal. Today it belongs to the Saak parish .

The chapel is supported by buttresses at the 3/8 end of the choir. The west portal has a stone frame in relief, the door is labeled "FCVA 1825". The fresco above the door depicting a "Black Madonna" is by Helga Druml , born in 1972 in Villach.

Inside, the building is covered with floral vaults from the beginning of the 18th century. On the aedical altar made of artificial stone, made using the Scagliola technique , there is a niche of Mary and child.
