location
The windmill is located on the western outskirts of Klein Germersleben at Feldstrasse 11 c .
Architecture and history
The windmill was built in 1848 and was originally in Seehausen (Börde) . In 1949 it was moved to its current location. At the same time, the mill , initially built as a post mill, was converted into a Paltrock windmill by the Kühl company . The wing cross was designed as Bilausche Ventikanten with revolving stern and executed as a steel construction. The tip lengths were nine meters.
The compass rose, which is no longer functional today, has a diameter of 3.60 meters. The mill technology is largely preserved. In the mill, for example, there is a double roller frame , a shot tunnel , a throwing and plan sifter, a cleaning machine and a mixing machine. There are also other elements such as transmissions, lifts and elevators. In August 1973, the then poor structural condition was documented by mill researcher Günter Rapp . A renovation took place later.
The windmill was the only Paltrockmühle in Germany that had a functional Ventikanten wing cross. On January 18, 2018, however, the wing cross was destroyed during the hurricane Friederike and the mill was seriously damaged. A repair is planned, but no vent edges should be used.
In the local register of monuments , the mill is registered as a monument under registration number 094 95726 .
