Klein Germersleben is a district of the city of Wanzleben-Börde in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1180. A document from 1367 proves that it belongs to the Archdiocese of Magdeburg . On July 1, 1950, Klein Germersleben was incorporated into Bottmersdorf . Since January 1, 2010, the place has belonged to the newly formed city of Wanzleben-Börde.
Attractions
- Church “Aegidie” : built in 1899/1900 and extensively renovated in recent years; the 55½ m high church tower is particularly striking
- Parsonage next to the church: half-timbered house from the 17th century, birthplace of Gotthilf Sebastian Rötger (1749–1831; provost and director of the Magdeburg Pedagogy from 1779 until his death)
The Klein Germersleben windmill on the western outskirts is striking . The Klein Germersleben war memorial for the victims and fallen soldiers of the two world wars is located in the town's cemetery .
