Bottmersdorf is a district of the city of Wanzleben-Börde in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Bottmersdorf is located on the Bode- tributary Sarre , between Wanzleben and Egeln , about 15 kilometers southwest of Magdeburg . The south of the Bottmersdorf district borders on the Salzlandkreis .

The district of Klein Germersleben, two kilometers southwest of Bottmersdorf, belonged to the former municipality of Bottmersdorf.

history

The written proof of the existence is provided by a document from the year 889 , another mention comes from a loan book of 1244. In it, the place is called Botmestrop .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Klein Germersleben was incorporated.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Bottmersdorf, Domersleben , Dreileben , Eggenstedt , Groß Rodensleben , Hohendodeleben , Klein Rodensleben and the towns of Seehausen and Wanzleben merged to form the new town of Wanzleben-Börde.

Bottmersdorf coat of arms

The coat of arms was awarded on July 29, 1935 by the President of the Province of Saxony.

Blazon : "A silver St. Andrew's cross in red, topped with a golden ear."

The colors of the former municipality are silver (white) / red.

The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Carl Busch, who lives in Berlin-Südende . The redesign in its current form took place in the course of the approval process in 1996 by the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch .

The flag of the former municipality is white / red striped lengthways with an applied coat of arms.

Transport links

The federal road 180 ( Wanzleben - Aschersleben ) runs through Bottmersdorf. There are further road connections to the surrounding towns of Oschersleben (Bode) and Schönebeck (Elbe) . The Wanzleben motorway junction ( A 14 ) is approx. 12 km from the community. The nearby Blumenberg train station is on the Magdeburg – Halberstadt railway line .

Personalities

  • Werner Lorleberg (1894–1945) was a lieutenant colonel in the Wehrmacht and handed over the American troops to Erlangen without a fight.
