coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on February 10, 1999 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.

Blazon : "In green an upright, red-tongued and armored golden wolf with a crossed tail."

The colors of the parish are green - gold (yellow).

The location of the place on the "Hohen Holz", a hilly forest area in the middle of the Börde, is symbolized by the green sign. The wolf symbolizes the following local legend:

A long time ago an old man lived near the place. He was strange, but no one else could say anything bad about him. It was just puzzling that lambs often disappeared from the flock of sheep without a trace. One day a particularly cute little lamb was born, which the shepherd immediately grew fond of. The old man wanted it too, but the shepherd didn't give it up. When this little lamb also disappeared, the shepherd confronted the old man. He mockingly confirmed the theft. Thereupon the shepherd beat up the old man in anger, but suddenly he was gone and instead of him there was a mighty wolf. The shepherd and his dogs continued to attack this, so that the wolf also received a severe beating. Eventually the wolf turned into a thorn bush, but the shepherd hacked it up. Then the old man turned back again and asked for mercy, but the mad shepherd killed him.

The place where the old man was buried was marked by the so-called werewolf stone for many years.

The flag is green - yellow - green striped (cross flag: stripes from left to right, hoisting flag: stripes running from top to bottom) with a coat of arms on the wider yellow central strip.
