Windmill Kleinmühlingen

The Kleinmühlingen windmill is a post mill on the Kirchberg near Kleinmühlingen in Saxony-Anhalt . It is considered a technical monument .

Mill and equipment

The post mill is equipped with sail blades and is windy. The mill , elevator and roller mill are still preserved from the furnishings .

history

After the ban on grinding , the first post mill was built in 1848 on the Kirchberg, which is also known as the Mühlberg . In the second half of the 20th century, this mill was largely derelict. A post windmill in need of renovation was then moved here from Roitzsch near Bitterfeld between 1991 and 1994 . Using original parts and adding new components, the mill was then rebuilt by Franke Bau GmbH .

The new inauguration of the nearly 13 meter high mill and the handover to the mill association took place on June 14th 1997. A stone standing south of the mill, which is also dedicated to a community partnership of Kleinmühlingen, reminds of this.

During hurricane Kyrill , the wing cross was damaged on January 19, 2007 . In 2011 the roof was damaged by a hailstorm and was re-covered with larch wood the following year . The roof, which is very light in contrast to the body , can now be seen very well from a distance.

use

The mill, which is a landmark of the town of Kleinmühlingen, can be visited upon prior request. There is also a regular mill festival.
