Window Buttress (from English window 'window' and English buttress 'support, pillar' ) is an approximately 800 m high cliff in the south of Adelaide Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises near the southeast end of the Fuchs-Piedmont Glacier and 5 km west-northwest of the summit of Mount Ditte .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it that way in 1982 because the upper part of the cliff looks like a window when viewed from the southwest .
