The Georgsfeld wind farm in Aurich -Georgsfeld is the third wind farm , after the Rysumer Nacken wind farm and the offshore wind turbine test site in Cuxhaven , on which Enercon E-126 wind turbines were used.
In 2007 two Enercon E-126s were installed there. Each of the turbines has a hub height of 135, a rotor diameter of 127 meters and a nominal output of six megawatts. In 2010, a third improved Enercon E-126 with a nominal output of 7.5 megawatts was installed in the Georgsfeld wind farm. This type of turbine , which Enercon has been manufacturing since 2007 (in series since 2008), was the most powerful type of wind turbine in the world at the time . The expected average annual yield of the wind farm is 54 GWh per year.
