The Rysumer Nacken wind farm is a wind farm on the Knock near Emden , which houses some of the largest wind turbines in the world when they were built.

Construction site of the prototype of the E-126 in Emden an der Knock in August 2007

Since 2007, two BARD VM 5000 kW wind turbines with a hub height of 90 meters and a rotor diameter of 122 meters have been installed in the Rysum wind farm . These were replaced in 2012 by BARD 6.5 systems with a nominal output of 6.5 MW. In 2017 the original type BARD 5.0 was reinstalled because the development of the BARD 6.5 was discontinued.

The largest wind turbines in the wind farm went into operation in November 2008. These are two Enercon E-126 wind turbines with a hub height of 135 meters and a rotor diameter of 126 meters. To ensure stability in the soft subsoil, 64 piles with an average length of 25 meters and a diameter of 56 cm were driven into the ground for the foundation of an E-126. 1500 m³ of concrete and 180 tons of reinforcing steel were used in the base.

In addition, there is a 198.5 meter high meteorological wind measuring mast in the Rysumer Nacken wind farm , the highest in a German wind farm.
