The Große Schanze wind farm is a wind farm near the federal motorway 143 in the Saale district in southern Saxony-Anhalt on the boundaries of the municipalities of Teutschenthal and Bad Lauchstädt .
The commissioned in the summer of 2012 in operating wind farm consists of 21 wind turbines of the type Vestas V90 / 2000 m with 105 m hub height and rotor diameter 90. The total installed capacity is 42 megawatts.
In January 2013, the Swiss energy supplier IWB (Industrielle Werke Basel) bought 15 of the total of 21 wind turbines.
The wind farm was built by Terrawatt Planungsgesellschaft in cooperation with the Saxovent-Notus Group. Together they are responsible for the technical operation. The Saxovent-Notus Group is entrusted with the commercial management.
